Refund Policy
Instinctive Balance Birthing
If there are special circumstances that arise where I am unable to attend your birth due to my own reasons such as sickness or unforeseen circumstances or a back-up doula is not available, then a 50% refund will be refunded to you and the other 50% of the scheduled fee will be retained for services already provided.
If I have been at your birth for over 15 hours and I need to call on my back-up doula due to fatigue, a refund will not be provided if you decide you do not wish to use the back-up doula.
No refund will be provided if you fail to contact me or do not give me enough time or warning for me to attend your birth or decide that you no longer want me to attend.
You acknowledge that in the event of special circumstances, which results in a caesarean birth, you are still required to pay the full doula fee.
If you have signed this agreement and then decide to have an elective caesarean, I will continue to support you leading up to your birth. The full fee will still be payable.
Your service will be modified to provide you with a Positive Caesarean Birth Coach Service and modified postpartum visits suited to your needs.
If I am not allowed to your birth due to hospital/provider policies, I will offer additional postpartum services in lieu of monetary reimbursement.
If my failure to attend your birth is due to a rapid labour (baby is born less than one hour after you call me and ask me to come), I will offer additional postpartum visits for support at no additional cost once you leave the hospital or birth centre.
We will discuss further what will be included in these visits, such as meal preparation, massage or complementary therapies and my full doula fee still applies.
As birth is a very unpredictable process, you understand that as your Doula I am not responsible and cannot guarantee the outcome of your labour and birth, and it is your responsibility to do as much preparation and education you can to achieve the type of birth that you wish to have, whether that is a physiological birth, medically managed birth or surgically managed birth.

Cancellation
Either party may cancel this Birth Doula Service Agreement by providing 15 days written notice to the other party. In the event of cancellation, any fees paid up to the date of cancellation shall be non-refundable, and any outstanding balance for services already provided shall be due and payable. I will not be responsible for any expenses or damages incurred by you as a result of cancellation. Upon cancellation, my obligations under this Agreement shall cease, and I will cease providing you services and support from the date of cancellation.
